I Am an I.D. Theft Victim for 12 Years

A discussion vlog: Carl Schroeder discusses his being an I.D. theft victim since 8/25/1997 when he was arrested and charged for bulgary, breaking in a warehouse, looting various stuff, and pawning the stolen items. Although his case was dismissed and expunged, the FBI flagged him for criminal. FBI doesn't have the court information. Carl's painful experience was recalled during his process of purchasing a log cabin this week.

There is such a thing as suing for false arrest, and it sounds like you have had damages including affecting your credit records regarding buying the cabin. Have you looked into recovering those damages?

That's scary that a criminal using the same name as you could cast a shadow over your life. Is there a lesson or recommendation to be learned from this?

Carl,

Please consult the NAD's law center. I understand that teir lawyers are quite competent. They would help you remove your name from the FBI's list, so you would have the peace of mind.

Sorry for all the troubles !!!

I wanted to thank you and let you know that you really helped me pass the VQAS Cert test (for educational interpreters) here in VA ! I've used your vLogs for receptive practice and it was a great help for the ASL portion of the performance test ! Thank you
